Milton Crossland of 600 Glenwood Avenue, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, October 10, 2001 at her residence. Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Claude Lee Cathey and the late Duber Hilliard Cathey. Mrs. Crossland was a retired Real Estate Agent, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Outreach Entertainers. She was a volunteer for The American Red Cross during World War II and was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts of America, Anderson Chapter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson where she was also a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class. Surviving is her husband, F. Milton Crossland of the home; son, George L. Willingham and wife, Jean of Anderson; two sisters, Nobia Mauldin and Mary Lou Walker Burriss, both of Anderson; grandson, Stephen Willingham and wife, Charmaine of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Erwin Willingham of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, the late George T. Willingham; a brother, Reece Cathey and two sisters, Lillian Sease and Ina Kay and a great-grandson, Lawton Lee Willingham. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2001 at the New Silverbrook Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Hayes officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. THE MCDOUGALD FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.
