Burnsed, husband of Elizabeth (Betsy) Burk Burnsed, residence, James Island, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Burnsed are invited to attend the funeral services of the former Saturday at 11 o'clock in the New Beginnings Community Church, formerly known as Clearview Baptist Church. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel Friday between five and seven o'clock. Mr. Burnsed was born July 30, 1937 in Charleston, SC, the son of Lester Farley Burnsed and LeVeta Dukes Burnsed. He was a member of New Beginnings Community Church, the Fraternal Order of Police Tri-county Lodge #3 and the S.C. Law Enforcement Officers Association. He was a graduate of Rivers High School and a retired Sr. Sgt. Charleston County Police Department. He is survived by his wife of James Island, SC; his mother of James Island, SC; two sons: D. Lewis Burnsed and his wife, Susan of James Island and L. Burk Burnsed of James Island; two brothers: Robert L. Burnsed of Charleston, SC and William F. Burnsed of Summerville, SC and two granddaughters: Nikki Smith and Bethany Burnsed. Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Community Church, 849 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, SC 29412.
