"Pappy" Braecklein, Sr., 70, husband of Adeline Scott Braecklein, died Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 1 o'clock. Burial will be at Whispering Pines Cemetery. Friends may call at Parks Funeral Home this evening from 6-9 pm. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 3896 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405-7443. Mr. Braecklein was born January 23, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Leroy A. Braecklein, Sr. and the late Grace Lowry Braecklein, Sr. and the late Grace Lowry Braecklein. He was a diesel mechanic with Walden Transport Truck Service and Repair. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Rutledge Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Summerville; six daughters, Susan B. Matson of James Island, Jaynean B. Monk of Boiling Springs, NC, Kimberly A. Pierce and Tonya M. Gallardo both of Summerville, Amy B. Davis of Charleston Heights and Melissa Ann Hall of Walterboro; two sons, William L. Braecklein, Jr. of Goose Creek and Tracy C. Braecklein of Charleston; two brothers, Clarence H. Braecklein and Leroy A. Braecklein, Jr. both of Florida; twenty-one grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, Thomas H. Braecklein, predeceased him.
