Mrs. Benke was born in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Robert Earl Tigue and Aliene Maupin Tigue. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Johns Island. Surviving are her husband of Charleston, S.C.; two sons, Michael Owen Benke and Laura, Robert David Benke and Lisa, all of Charleston, S.C,; five grandchidlren, Gretta Stanelle, Susan Irgin, David Benke, Galen Benke, all of Charleston, S.C., and Mathew Benke of Idaho; one great-grandson, Aron Irvin of Charleston, S.C.
