TITLE: Barbara Erlene Shaw Barnes SOURCE: The Post and Courier SUBMITTED BY: The Post and Courier FORMATTED BY: Kim Grissom, Jun 2003 *********************************************************************** BARNES, Barbara Mrs. Barbara Erlene Shaw Barnes, 68, of 410 Co-Op Road in Hampton, died Saturday morning in the Hampton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.Mrs. Barnes was born in Hampton County, August 14, 1933 a daughter of the late Earl Wilson Shaw and Ida Marie Gould Shaw. Mrs. Barnes had retired as a Clerical Supervisor with the Hampton Department of Social Services. She was a member of the Skeeter Scratchers Camping Club in Hampton, and she was a member and Sunday School Teacher at the West End Baptist Church. Surviving are: her husband, Warren Rivers Barnes of Hampton; one son, Warren R. Barnes Jr. of West Columbia; one daughter, Linda Williams of Allendale; one sister, Frances S. Bennett of Varnville; one half brother, Owen Wilson Shaw of Charleston; one sister-in-law, Willie Lee Barnes of Hampton; and four grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Barnes, Leigh Ann Barnes, Lisa Marie Williams, and Christine Anne Williams.Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday in the West End Baptist Church in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Buddy Presley and Rev. Barney Tuten, with burial in the Crocketville Cemetery directed by PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME in Hampton.The family suggests that those who wish may send memorials to the American Cancer Society, Hampton Unit, P.O. Box 577, Estill, S.C. 29918. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, and Monday morning prior to services.
