Allred, Jr., 75, of Awendaw, died Sunday, October 28, 2001 in local health care facility. The memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 o'clock Saturday, November 3, 2001 in Ocean Grove United Methodist Church, Highway 17, Awendaw. Arrangements were made at J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL. A retired federal agent with Naval Investigative Service, he was born February 12, 1926 in Burlington, NC, the son of Benjamin E. Allred, Sr. and Swana Buckner Allred. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina and was a retired Commander, U. S. Navy Reserve. He was a member of Ocean Grove United Methodist and was formerly a Deacon and Sunday school director at Awendaw First Baptist Church. He was the widower of Caroline Montgomery Allred who preceded him in death August 15, 2001. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael P. and Claudia Allred of Warrensburg, Missouri; Benjamin E. and Melissa Allred, III, of Smithfield, VA; John V. and Cindy Allred of Awendaw; Charles M. and Nina Allred of Sandy Hook, CT; and Thomas F. Allred, MD of Spartanburg. His sister, Helen Frink of Jacksonville, NC, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
