ACKERMAN, John
John Martin "Jack" Ackerman, 45, of 1154 Bellwood Road, Charleston, 
died Tuesday. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2001 
in the chapel of AVINGER FUNERAL HOME in Holly Hill with the Rev. 
Buddy Lock and Rev. Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in the 
Jaques Cemetery near Cottageville. Mr. Ackerman was born in Orangeburg 
a son of Lawrence Mytlin Ackerman and the late Mary Elaine Avinger 
Ackerman. He was a graduate of Holly Hill High School and a Marine 
Corps veteran. He was a masonry restorationist and a member of New 
Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are his father of Holly Hill, and his 
fianc‚, Jacquie Muir of Charleston. Friends may call at the funeral 
home from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, October 4, 2001. Memorials may 
be made to Friends of the Hunley, 255 King St., Charleston, SC 29401.
