Memorial services will be held Sunday afternoon, May 20, 2001, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Spell Chapel, at 4 o'clock. Graveside services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 22, 2001, in Red Bluff Cemetery, Clio, S.C., at 2 o'clock. Mr. Palmer was born June 4, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pa., a son of the late Michael Palumbo and Florence Medica Palumbo. He was a retired Systems Engineer with IBM Corporation and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Mr. Palmer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also attended the Wharton School of Finance. He received his master's degree from Georgia State University. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife, Claire McColl Palmer of Summerville, S.C., and one daughter, Alice Gibson Palmer, also of Summerville, S.C. Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE, S.C.
