Shannon Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Ms. Parkins, 53, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at her residence. Formerly of Chester, she was the daughter of Gertrude Haseltine Hines Parkins and the late Edward James Parkins. A 1966 graduate of Chester High School, Ms. Parkins was a retired secretary with Rock Hill School District No. 3 and a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. Survivors include her mother, her daughter, Kelly Foster and husband, Scott Foster, of the home; a brother, William Parkins of California; a sister, Claudia Cox of Pickens; and her grandson, Tommy Greco of Rock Hill. The family will receive friends at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel on Saturday, May 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. and at other times at the home, 4648 Oak Meadows Court.
