TITLE: Samuel Davie Sr. SOURCE: The News and Reporter, May 18, 2001 SUBMITTED: The News and Reporter FORMATTED: Kim Grissom, May 2001 *********************************************************************** Mr. Samuel Davie Sr. CHESTER — The funeral for Mr. Samuel Davie Sr. of 620 Omega Drive, Chester, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday from Gethsemane Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Charles D. Pratt officiating. Burial will be in the Davie Family Cemetery on Darby Road with Christopher King’s Funeral Home, 703 Old York Road, in charge. Mr. Davie died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at the Chester County Hospital. He was a son of the late Willie Bell Guy Davie and the late Charlie Davie. He was the widow of Olenther Caldwell Davie. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Davie Feaster. Survivors are three sons, Charles Willie Davie and his wife, Cindy, of Raywood, Texas, Samuel Davie Jr. of Chester and Robert Davie of California; five daughters, Carrie Davie and Olenther Davie, both of the home, Wilma Digby and her husband, Wallace, of York, Arnetta Curry and her husband, Lewis, of Clover, and Betty Brice and her husband, Larry, of Chester; 40 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home of Ronnie Davie, 812 Darby Road, Chester. Viewing at the funeral home is 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
