She was born on March 11, 1940, in Charleston, a daughter of Edward Phillip and Gladys Jones Richards. Sue attended St. Josephs and Cathedral Catholic Schools and graduated in Bishop England High School's Class of 1958. She went to work for the Credit Bureau of Greater Charleston until her children were born and left to devote her time to raising a family. In later years she returned to work as an office manager for Brantley Construction Co., and retired from Engineering Technology, Inc. She was respected for her knowledge of Antiques and Collectibles and handled many Estate Sales through the years. Ms. Clark is survived by a daughter, Annette C. Hiott, and a son, Bradford A. Clark, both of Summerville; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mary R. Richtermeyer and her husband Rick, Irene R. Bennett and her husband Arnold of James Island, Bernadette R. Knisley and her husband Ed of John's Island; a brother, Edward P. Richards of McClellanville, and brother-in-law, G. Chadwick Guerry of James Island. She was predeceased by a sister, Anne R. Guerry, and a brother, John T. Richards. The relatives and friends of Susan R. Clark are invited to attend her funeral service at 12 noon, Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at the James Island Baptist Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the JAMES A.
