The funeral will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2001, in Beulah Baptist Church, Smoaks. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Deacon Oliver Rivers, son of the late Amanda and Amos Whaley, was born in Richland County and was reared in Colleton County by the late Easter and Aaron Rivers. He was educated in the public schools of Colleton County. Deacon Rivers was a member of Beaulah Baptist Church and served on the Deacon's Board. He was the widower of Dorothy Redish Rivers. Surviving are, his son, Carl Rivers (Woodette) of Williams; a sister, Grace Williams of Smoaks; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
