Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Sea Island Presbyterian Church. Mr. Frederick was born April 12, 1918, in Wadsworth, Ohio, a son of Llewellyn R. and Golda M. Jaycox Frederick. He worked on the family farm and graduated from Ohio State University with distinction in 1941. He received a doctorate degree in organic chemistry in 1947 from Purdue University. He was a research chemist with Purdue Research Air Material Command project. He was employed by B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. in numerous research chemist positions from 1946 to 1960. He worked as manager, Chemical Engineering Research, 1960-1969, and manager, Corporate Information Center, until 1978. In 1981, Mr. Frederick retired to Fripp Island. He was active in Boy Scouts of America, HELP of Beaufort and Beaufort Power Squadron. He was a charter member of Sea Island Presbyterian Church where he served as treasurer and elder. Surviving are his wife, Madge M. Frederick of Beaufort; two sons, David M. Frederick of Schaumburg, Ill., and Paul D. Frederick of Fair Play; two daughters, Nancy J. Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Diane B. Frederick of Snohomish, Wash.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
