A native of Tamassee, she was a retired textile employee and was the owner and operator of McDonald's Drive Inn of Salem for 30 years. She was a member of Cheohee Baptist Church. She was the widow of George Marshall McDonald, Sr., and the daughter of the late James Adam and Pearl Grant Collins. Surviving are sons, George Marshall McDonald, Jr. , and wife Janice of Seneca; a grandson reared in the home, Ralph Rusty McDonald and wife Pamela of Seneca; a special daughter, Helen McNeely and husband Jerry of Salem; a sister, Ibera Hyatt and husband Arthur of Salem; half brothers, Jimmy Collins of Seneca, Clyde and Larry Collins, both of Walhalla; grandchildren, George "Chip" McDonald, III and wife Deborah of Williamston, Cathy Nation of Chicago, Ill, and Joan Gosnell of Salem; and great-grandchildren, Jason and Joshua Gosnell and Ashton Rae McDonald, all of Seneca, and Keely Rose McDonald of Williamston. Services were at 4pm Sunday at Cheohee Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Davenport Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
