She was the daughter of Ramon Camilo Lazo Alvarez and Rosa Regina Blet Suarez. She graduated from secretarial school and worked as a secretary in Cuba for several years until she married and moved to the United States in 1937. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrews Ramirez de Arellano. She is survived by two daughters, Rosa Maria de Arellano of Charleston, S.C., Mildred C. de Arellano Hunt of Maspeth, N.Y., and one sister, Margot Lazo of Miami, Fla. Also, four grandchildren, Michael A. de Arellano, Barbara M. Hunt, Bernard J. Hunt, Brian A. Hunt and one great granddaughter, Abigail B. de Arellano. She was a former member of the Daughters of Mary in Cuba, Legion of Mary, Miami, Fla., and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 18, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 17, 2001, from noon until 8 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 150 Wentworth St. Memorial contributions may be sent to Blessed Sacrament Church Building Fund, 5 St. Teresa Dr., Charleston, S.C. 29407.
