Mullinax Sr. CLOVER — The funeral for Mr. John W. Mullinax Sr. of 114 Flatrock St., Clover, will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Clover Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Wayne Spear officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Mr. Mullinax died Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, W.Va. Born in Bessemer City, N.C. on June 25, 1925, he was the son of the late John Henry and Bessie Alice Mullinax. Mr. Mullinax served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II, earning a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He retired from Springs Industries, Springsteen Plant in Chester and was a longtime active member of Clover Wesleyan Church. Survivors include his wife, Alba Lee McFalls Mullinax of the home; a daughter, Mona Windham of Chester; a son, John W. Mullinax Jr. of Union; a brother, Leon Mullinax of Chester; a sister, Cora M. Campbell of Chester; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home.
