Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, in the Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Burnette and Rev. James Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Barnwell Co. Memory Gardens. Mrs. Smyly was born in Charleston, S.C., the daughter of the late John Lovell and Clemie Fender Gibson. She was a former employee of the Savannah River Plant and was a homemaker. She was a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church. Survivors include, husband, Richard H. Smyly, daughter, Peggy Smyly Templeton, sons and daughters-in-law, David and Leisa Smyly, Wayne and Angela Smyly, grandchildren, Stephanie, Christina and Rebecca Templeton, Kyle, Kirkley and Chandler Smyly. All survivors are from Barnwell, S.C. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Mole Funeral Home.
