Pleasant, SC entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 26, 2001. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham Chase Ward, are invited to attend his funeral services Wednesday, May 30, 2001, in the Sthur Mount Pleasant Chapel at 11:00 o'clock. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, Tuesday, May 29, from six until eight o'clock. Mr. Ward was born January 31, 1921, in Washington, GA, a son of George Barrington and Leila Rotureau Ward. He served as a welder for Southeastern Ship Yard, Savannah, GA, and at Swan Island Ship Yard, Portland, OR., working on ``Liberty'' ships. He was retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years service, most of which was spent as a Counter Intelligence Corp. (CIC) Agent. He served another 15 years in Civil Service in numerous positions, the last of which was Chief of Security at the Naval Shipyard, Charleston, SC. He was a long time member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Sullivans Island and Christ Episcopal Church, Mt. Pleasant. He was an avid long time supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and served as Scout Master for many years. Surviving are his wife, Marian McCaskill Ward of Mt. Pleasant, SC, his son, Dennis M. Ward, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, and a grandson, Dennis M. Ward, Jr. of St. Louis, MO. He is predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Barrington Ward. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The S.C.
