Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church with burial in Old Fort Cemetery. A wake will be from 7 to 8 this evening at Helen Galloway Memorial Chapel. Ms. Simmons was born June 30, 1915, in Vienna, Ga. She was educated in Chatham County schools and employed for many years at Blue Channel Seafood Corp. She lived in Port Royal for more than 50 years and was a member of Union Baptist Church. Her husband, Joe Louis Simmons, preceded her in death in 1983.
