Winter, 73, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at a local hospital. Born October 27, 1927, in Sumter, S.C., she was the daughter of Charles Kistler Tomlinson and Mary Eliza Hinson Tomlinson. She was a member of Portside Baptist Church. Her son, Eric Van Winter, preceded her in death. Mrs. Winter is survived by her two sons, Philip J. Winter of Goose Creek, and Michael E. Winter and his wife, Diane K. Winter of Hanahan; daughter, Denise J. Winter of Goose Creek; three sisters, Faye T. Wiggins and Rosa T. Tomlinson, both of Florence, S.C., and Lois T. Cromer of Summerton, S.C.; two brothers, S.G. Tomlinson of Lynchburg, S.C., and Keith Tomlinson of Paw Paw, W.Va.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, in the chapel of MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd. (Hwy. 52), Goose Creek. Interment will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Highway 61, Charleston. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at the funeral home.
