Residence, Charleston, South Carolina. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services Tuesday morning, May 29, 2001 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at eleven o'clock. Interment, Beaufort National Cemetery at one o'clock. Friends may call at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel this Monday, between six and eight o'clock. Mrs. Evans was born in Williams, South Carolina, the daughter of John Henry Carter and Mamie Sue O'Quinn Carter. She was a member of Northbridge Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia Sue McRae of Drexel Hill, PA; one son, Samuel L. Evans, III of Charleston, SC; two granddaughters, Dr. Anne Carter Botti of Columbus, OH and Major Mary Evans McRae, USAF, of St. Petersburg, FL., 2 sisters,Allene Carter Blocker and Selena Inez Stelling, both of Charleston.
