Mr. Baxley was born in the Rose Hill Community of Georgetown County on April 27, 1936, a son of the late Alford Patrick Baxley, Sr., and Oletta Carraway Baxley. He was a truck driver and retired from Lambert Trucking Company in March of 2000. Mr. Baxley was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and the Puncheon Creek Hunting Club. Surviving are, his wife, Naomi Swails Baxley of Andrews; a son, Alford Patrick "Rick" Baxley, III, of Andrews; a daughter, Cindy B. Lynch of Andrews; a sister, Joy B. White of Sumter; two brothers, Chuck Baxley of Hickory, NC., and Vernon Baxley of Georgetown; and four grandchildren; Tasha L. Shelley, Foster Lynch, Sean Baxley, and Taylor Baxley, all of Andrews. Mr. Baxley was predeceased by a sister, Ann B. Causey. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Holy Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David R. Richardson. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock.
