Whiteside, 77 ROCK HILL – The funeral for Mrs. Katherine A. Whiteside of Ridgewood Lane, Rock Hill, was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the First ARP Church in Rock Hill with Dr. Robert J. Blumer officiating. Burial followed at Laurelwood Cemetery with Bass Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Whiteside, 77, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Westminster Towers. Born in Statesville, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Allen Fred Alexander Sr. and Margaret Willis Alexander. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bradley Whiteside Sr. She was a member and the first director of Christian Education at the First ARP Church. She was a graduate of Erskine College and attained a masters degree from Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Va. Mrs. Whiteside was a member of the Allegra Music Club and Catawba Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was co-owner and office manager at Whiteside Realty and Insurance. She is survived by her son, John Bradley Whiteside Jr. of Rock Hill; a brother-in-law, Albert Newton Whiteside Jr. of Columbia; and two sisters-in-law, Perry W. Cathcart of Winnsboro and Katherine W. Rogers of Anderson.
