Effie Wright Keener Whilden, 92, widow of Gerhardt Whilden of 
Wilmington, North Carolina and the mother of the late Paul Pinckney 
Keener, who was the former owner and president of AAA Transmission 
Doctors died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Charleston, South Carolina.  
Born on September 7, 1908 in Ellijay, Georgia, she was the daughter of
Hiriam Ehnic and Alice Sawyer Wright.  She was a member of hr Church 
Circle Group in Norfolk, Virginia.  Relatives and friends are invited 
to attend her memorial service, 2:00 PM., Friday, June 22, 2001 at 
Grace Episcopal Church, 98 Wentworth St., Charleston.  Mrs. Whilden is 
survived by a daughter-in-law; Lydia R. Keener of Charleston, two 
granddaughters; Paula Keener -Chavis and Kathryn Keener, Both of 
Charleston, and a great-grandson; Elliott Parker Chavis of Charleston. 
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Happy Days  & 
Special Times, 1622 Ashley Hall Rd., Charleston, SC 29407.
