The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 2001, at St. Philips Episcopal Church. Burial directed by STUHR'S FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, will be in Live Oak Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening (Wednesday) from 6 until 8 p.m. Mr. Webb was born on January 23, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., a son of Malcom S. Webb and Emily Moore Webb. He was a graduate of St. Andrews School in Sewanee, Tenn. He attended Brevard College, N.C., and the College of Charleston. He was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, S.C. Historical Society, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Military Order of the Stars and Bars, and the Carolina Yacht Club. He served in the U.S. Navy . A former television newsman, producer, and director was associated with WUSN-TV, Ch. 2, WCIV-TV, Ch. 4, WRVA-TV, at Richmond, Va. He was honored by the Association for State and Local History for a documentary and in 1965 was named by the Associated Press as having the best local news program and documentary production and commentary in the state. He was also a Special Writer for the State Newspaper. He later joined the staff of Advertising Service Agency. He also had articles published in national publications. In 1979, he won first place in the annual National Industrial Photography contest. In retirement he was a home host with Historic Charleston Bed and Breakfast. Surviving are his wife, Frankie Ann Henderson Webb, daughter; Margaret Webb Axson of Columbia, S.C., and Virginia Webb Harrison of Marietta, Ga., and four grandchildren, William H. Harrison, Caroline K. Harrison, Sarah M. Axson, William K. Axson; one brother, William G. Webb of East Greenbush, N.Y.; two sisters, Emily Webb-Goldberg of Westchester, Ill., and Mrs. Herbert R. Stender, Jr., of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; 11 nieces and nephews.
