He was the widower of Nona Bradshaw Thames. The relatives and friends of ``Captain Junior'' Thames are invited to attend his funeral services Saturday, June 16, 2001 in Wren's Chapel, Hwy. 45, McClellanville, SC at 4:00 o'clolck. Burial will follow in the Wren's Chapel Churchyard. Friends may call at Wren's Chapel one hour prior to funeral service. Arrangements by J.HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Mr. Thames was born in Vero Beach, Florida, a son of the late Bonny Gerald and Julia White Thames. He was a member of Wren's Chapel and a Retired self employed Merchant. He was a graduate of McClellanville High School and was a World War II Veteran and served in the US Merchant Marines. Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Thames Morse of McClellanville, SC and Harriet Thames Hutcheson of Awendaw, SC, his son, James Hugh Thames of Georgetown, SC, two sisters, Mary Bell McConnel of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Emogene Lacey of Ravenel, SC, three grandchildren, Julia Wesley Morse, Julia Anna Morse and William ``Bill'' Edwin Hutcheson IV. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Wren's Chapel, P.O. Box 242, McClellanville, SC 29458.
