The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Monday, at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Mr. Starnes was born April 17, 1932, in Winnsboro, S.C., a son of Rudolph Starnes and Beulah Mae McDonnald Starnes. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and five bronze stars. He was a Mason and a member of Local 776 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was Baptist. Surviving are his wife, Frances Hamn Starnes of Cross; two sons, Paul B. Starnes of Moncks Corner, Lonnie M. Starnes, Jr., of Clearwater, Fla.; daughter, Teresa S. Garrett of Moncks Corner; four sisters, Beck Wegner of North Augusta, Fronnie Sample of North Charleston; Sandra Britt of Myrtle Beach and Linda Pye of Cross; brother, Rudy Starnes of Williston; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at RUSSELL FUNERAL CHAPEL, Moncks Corner, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sunday evening. Mr. Starnes was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Starnes.
