Born in Long Creek, she was daughter of the late E. Jefferson and Lizzie Moore Blackwell and was the widow of Willie T. Spearman. She had worked in the Spinning Department with Beacon Manufacturing for 55 years and was a member of Coneross Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, William L. (Bud) Spearman of Westminster and C. S. M. Retired Billy Spearman of Olympia, Washington; a daughter, Gertha Spearman Moyd of Taylors; a brother, Furman Blackwell of Toccoa; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs., Spearman was preceded in death by daughters, Eva Mae and Evie Rae Spearman, brothers, Reece, Tranyham, and Cleo Blackwell, and sisters Clima O'Shield, Eva Carter, and Corrie Camp. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 14 at Holly Springs Baptist Church, conducted by the Reverends Don Bickers and John McKnight. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
