Frances Stack Smith, 83, of North Charleston, widow of Harry G. Smith, 
died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 
June 16, 2001, at 10 o'clock in James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, 
Summerville. Burial will be in Dorchester Memory Gardens, Summerville. 
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 
753 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Suite 100, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464. Friends 
may call James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, from 6 until 8 
o'clock, Friday evening. Born on November 23, 1917, in Cordova, S.C., 
a daughter of the late Medicus James Stack and Emily Smoak Stack. She 
was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are, son and 
daughter-in-law, William G. and Mary Ann Smith of Summerville; two 
daughters, Harriet Daigneault of Tampa, Fla., Patricia Hunter of Tampa,
Fla.; two brothers, Claudis Stack of Jedburg, Harold Stack of Rock Hill
; two sisters, Lurine Knight of Bethune, Estelle Muckenfuss of 
Saltville, Va.; seven grandchildren, Mary Frances Van Patten of 
Summerville, Kimberly Ann Smith of Summerville, John Paul Sylva of 
Franklin, Tenn., Tracy Lester of Dallas, Texas, Christopher Dike of 
Clearwater, Fla., Lisa Stone of Pleasant Hill, Mo., Scarlet Greco of 
Independence, Mo.; six great grandchildren. Arrangements by JAMES A.
