Mr. Singletary was born in Harleyville, S.C., on October 22, 1925, the son of Nathaniel Singletary and Mattie Mae Owen Singletary. He was a retired foreman with Cape Romain Pile Driving Company. Surviving are his wife of North Charleston, S.C., one daughter, Dorothy Carter, of Bamberg, S.C., one step-son, Chris L. Walters, of North Charleston, S.C., one brother, Archie N. Singletary, of Cottageville, S.C.; and four grandchildren.
