Dale M. Shannon, Ret. Sr. Master Sgt. USAF, 79, of Moncks Corner, died 
Saturday, June 23, at a local nursing home. Born in Clinton, Minn., to 
the late Merlyn and Hazel Swank Shannon. He was the loving husband for 
55 years to Miriam P. Shannon. He was a retired 27-year veteran of the 
United States Air Force. He was a Methodist. He is survived by his wife
of the home, two sons, Michael (Mick) H. Shannon and wife Jo of Mobile,
Ala., David (Pat) Shannon and wife Susie of Atlanta, Ga., a daughter, 
Donna Shannon Cowden and husband Doug of Mt. Pleasant. A brother, Glenn 
Shannon and sister Lila Shannon Benson both of Clinton, Minn., also 
survive him. Also survived by five grandchildren. Services to be 
announced by MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 100

GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 
26, at Plantation Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made 
to the Alzheimer's Association (Coastal Carolina Chapter) P.O. Box 
80459, Charleston, S.C. 29416-0459. MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 
GOOSE CREEK CHAPEL, 100 South Goose Creek Blvd. 553-1511, is assisting
