Funeral services for Mrs. Yates will be held 1 p.m, Thursday, June 7, 2001, in Buckhead UM Church, 346 Smyly Road, Ruffin, S.C. Interment, Westview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, 7 to 8 p.m., in St. Mary's AME Church, 735 Bear Swamp Road, Johns Island. Mrs. Yates is survived by four sons, Joseph, Jr., Jimmy, Frederick and Earl Yates, all of Charleston; three daughters, Janie Ruth Pinckney, Shirley Peterson and Patty Yates all of Charleston; daughters-in-law, Bondell, Patricia, Christine, and Sonya Yates of Charleston and Mamie Yates of White Plains, N.Y.; two sons-in-law, Thomas Peterson of Charelston, James Johnson, Jr., of Hollywood, S.C.; two brothers, Essau and Emannuel Dubois of White Plains, N.Y.; one sister, Elvie Yates of White Plains, N.Y.; five sisters-in-law, Pauline and Virginia Dubois, Chesalie Yates, Clara Yates, and Janie Yates; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
