TITLE: Ralph Thomas Fogle SOURCE: The Post and Courier, June 7, 2001 SUBMITTED: The Post and Courier FORMATTED: Kim Grissom, June 2001 *********************************************************************************************** Warrant Officer Ralph Thomas Fogle, USMC, Ret. 73, husband of Shirley Ruffin Fogle of Bonneau died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Fogle was born Thursday, May 24, 1928, in Ridgeville, S.C., the son of Oliver Windell and June Adare Fogle. He graduated from Porter Military Academy and the Citadel. Mr. Fogle was a member of the American Legion and a Mason. He was a retired United States Marine Corps Warrant Officer having served during the Korean Conflict as well as in Viet Nam, receiving the Purple Heart three times for wounds suffered during the campaigns. He was also awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Combat V and numerous other medals and citations. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Craig Fogle of Mooresville, N.C., and Charles Fogle, USMC of Japan; five daughters, Wendy Braswell of Cooksville, Tenn., Henrietta English of Mt. Pleasant, Clara Painter of Clover, S.C., Kathy Goforth of York, S.C., and Sharon Collins of Commerce, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2001, at the Calvary Baptist Church, 4744 Highway 165, Hollywood, S.C. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Andrew's Parish Episcopal Churchyard, Highway 61, Charleston. Friends may call at the JAMES A.
