Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, at Rice Patch Christian Church. Burial, with Eastern Star Rites, will follow in the church cemetery, directed by the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. Polk was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Jessie E. Polk and Laura Polk Polk. She was a retired seamstress with Smoaks Manufacturing and was the widow of Bennie A. Polk. She was a member of Rice Patch Christian Church and was a member of Community Chapter #206, Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a son, Donald A. Polk of Islandton, a daughter, Virginia B. Carter of Walterboro, a brother, Jessie Polk of Texas, two sisters, Lucille Carter of Walterboro and Bessie Lee Bishop of Islandton, and several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
