The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Otto Brooks are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in Midland Park Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon, June 10, 2001, at 4:30 o'clock. Interment, Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL, this (Saturday) evening between 6 and 8 o'clock. Mr. Brooks was born November 13, 1926, in Ladson, S.C., the son of the late Philip Oliver and Mattie E. Willis Brooks. He was a member of Midland Park Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in World War II, receiving a Victory Medal. He was also a recipient of the American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and the Point System Medal. He was a retired foreman for Bird and Son Roofing Company. He was president and co-president of Ladson Hunt Club. He is survived by his wife of Cottageville, S.C.; one son, Paul Oliver Brooks of North Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Donna Brooks Risinger of Summerville, S.C.; one daughter, Donna Brooks Risinger of Summerville, S.C.; one sister, Ruth Murray of Johns Island, S.C.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Brooke Risinger of Summerville, S.C., Philip Obrien Brooks and Amber Michele Brooks, both of North Charleston, S.C.
