Pleasant, died Wednesday morning, June 20, 2001, following a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be 3 p.m., Friday, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Entombment will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A native of Cortland, NY, he was the son of Frederick E. and Grace Lee Newcomb. A 1939 graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio, he was retired general sales manager with the Bendix Corporation, Aerospace Division, in Sidney, NY. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 61 years Lucille Marsted Newcomb, his son, David Newcomb of San Jose, Calif.; and his daughter, Susan Newcomb of Binghamton, NY.
