Charles Edward Nettles
HARDEEVILLE - Charles Edward "Chuck" Nettles, 70, died Thursday, June 
21, 2001, in Chatham Nursing Home, Savannah. Memorial services will 
be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sauls Funeral Home, Ridgeland. Mr. 
Nettles was born Oct. 15, 1930 in Ridgeland, a son of Charles E. 
Nettles Sr. and Louise Young Nettles. He was a retired chef. Surviving 
are a daughter, Gloria Van Etten of Clarkesville, Ind.; five brothers, 
Carl Nettles of Apex, N.C., Randolph Nettles and Leland Nettles of 
Hardeeville, Franklin Nettles of Pembroke, Ga. and James Nettles of 
Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Verna Gillikin of Hardeeville and Irma 
Huggins of Greenville; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
