Jones, Sr., 84, of James Island, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at a local hospital. Mr. Jones was born February 20, 1917, in Duncansville, Pa. He was the son of Jesse H. Jones and Ida Belle Davis Jones of Duncansville, Pa. Mr. Jones has been a resident of James Island for the last three years, and a former resident of Pittsburg, Pa., and Lakeland, Fla. He was owner and operator of Campus Barber Shop and an active member of the choir at St. Bede's Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Pa. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Cleophas Donley Jones, two sons, William C. Jones, Jr., of Meadville, Pa., and Joseph Anthony Jones of James Island, S.C.; two daughters, Janice Y. Hodson of James Island, S.C., and Sarah Jane Didelot of San Antonio, Texas, 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at the Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, S.C., today, Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date.
