Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 2001, at 11 o'clock in Hopewell Baptist Church, Adams Run. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, 6869 Parkers Ferry Road, Adams Run, S.C. 29426. Friends may call James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening. Born on October 17, 1920, in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of the late Alvin St. Julian Humbert and Ruth Weeks Humbert Howard. She was a graduate of Charleston schools. She had four years of nursing training at St. Francis Hospital. She was a retired assistant manager and catering manager for Francis Marion Hotel. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Surviving are, husband, James Rufus Johnston of Charleston; son and daughter-in-law, Clemmie "Bickie" and Angela Rourk of Charleston; daughter and son-in-law, Meryl Elizabeth and Harold Black of Ravenel; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Nora Doar of Charleston, Irene Wessel of Casey.
