Gallant, died June 7, 2001, at her home. Born in Laurens, October 9, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Albert Creswell and Eva Brownlee Todd. After graduation from Laurens High School, she obtained an AB degree from Agnes Scott College and Masters Degree in Library Science from Emory University. Mrs. Gallant taught high school Latin in Elloree, Newberry and Greenwood and was a librarian at Spartanburg High School. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood and the Mary Giles Sunday School Class, Mrs. Gallant was also a member of the Greenwood Woman's Club and the Lotus Garden Club. She served on the Board of Visitors of the University of South Carolina . Mrs. Gallant enjoyed many years as a member of several bridge clubs, book clubs and a rook club. She was the oldest living member of the Star Fort Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by a step-son, Paul Dial Gallant of Greenville, two step-grandchildren, Tracy Gallant Walker of Columbia and Kenneth Gallant of Jacksonville, Fla., her sister-in-law, Mrs. Albert C. (Marjorie) Todd of Greenwood, her niece and nephews, Albert C. Todd, III, of Columbia, Mrs. Paul J. (Ann Todd) Nodtvedt of Isle of Palms, and James L. Todd of Charlotte, N.C., four great nieces and six great nephews. She is also survived by her close companions and care givers for the past several years, Jamesetta Perlotte Duncan, Marlene Perlotte and Sharon Perlotte Dunbar. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Saturday, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel with Dr. John Wall and Rev. John White officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Andrew Todd, David Todd, John Todd, Matthew Nodtvedt, Dr. Lee Goldstein, James E. McDonald, James Perlotte, and Jake Duffie. The body is at BLYTH FUNERAL HOME and will be placed in the Chapel at 11 a.m., Saturday. The family is at the home in Royal Oak and will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Friday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be sent to Thornwell Home for Children, P.O. Box 60, Clinton, S.C. 29325, or to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W.
