Hempel, died at her residence, Thursday, June 21, 2001. She was born on Monday, April 1, 1907, in Hungary, the daughter of Ignatz and Anna Bergman Mattes. Mrs. Hempel was a retired factory associate with Proctor and Gamble and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The services for Mrs. Hempel will be conducted by Paul B. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45242, (513) 521-9303. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2001, in Arlington Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio. A visitation will be held at Paul B. Young Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Hempel is survived by her daughter, Frieda H. Corcoran and her husband, Dr. John W. Corcoran, both of Charleston, S.C., a grandson, Jon Erich Corcoran of Black Mountain, N.C., a granddaughter, Sandra C. Brinker of Charleston, S.C., and three great grandchildren, Mitchell Brinker, Dylan Brinker and Hayden Brinker, all of Charleston.
