Mr. Goude was born in the Pleasant Hill community of Georgetown County on February 11, 1925, a son of the late John Leslie McFarlen Goude and Annie Ruth Russ Goude. Mr. Goude was the owner and operator of Goude's Body Shop until his retirement. He was a charter member of Graves Southern Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and camper. Surviving are, his wife, Belma Dean Coker Goude of Georgetown; four sons, L. Mack Goude of Conway, Michael E. Goude and David K. Goude, both of Georgetown, and James D. Goude of Andrews; a daughter, Diane G. Lawrence of Georgetown; two brothers, Lloyd Goude of Georgetown and N.L. "Doug" Goude of Beaufort; four sisters, Ruth G. Miller, Jennie Lee G. Miller, and Louvenia G. Jacobs, all of Georgetown , and Ozela G. Lambert of Beaufort; 16 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday afternoon, June 17, 2001 , at 3:30 o'clock in Graves Southern Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Alan Main the Rev. Themos Cribb. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday evening, June 16, 2001. The family suggests memorials to Graves Southern Baptist Church, P.O. Box 542, Georgetown, S.C. 29442.
