Mr. Donald Preston Franklin, 53
GREAT FALLS – The funeral for Mr. Donald Preston Franklin, 53, of 40 
Pendleton St. was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at 
Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale Welch and the Rev. John 
Mullis officiated and burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. 
Franklin, 53, died Friday, June 22, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Born in Lancaster County on Feb. 24, 1948, he was a son of the late 
William David Franklin and the late Margaret Carter Franklin. A 
recipient of the Purple Heart for his service in Viet Nam, he was a 
graduate of Great Falls High School and was employed with J.P. Stevens 
Co. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lynda Bernhardt of Waldorf, Md.; 
and two nieces, Amanda and Angela Bernhardt of Waldorf, Md. Memorials 
may be made to the Great Falls Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 371, Great Falls,
S.C. 29055. Dantzler-Baker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
