Mrs. Marjorie Houston Fairey, age 101, died Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2001 in a local hospital. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2001 at 3:00 pm., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Smith, officiating. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by DUKES-HARLEY FUNERAL HOME. Active Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons: William Fletcher Fairey, IV, Frank Houston Fairey, Hugh Brady Haston, III, WilliamHaston Dannelly, Justin Brady Campbell, Thomas Humes Rhea, III and Frederick TroupeMickler, IV. Mrs. Fairey was born in Huntersville, NC., on August 28, 1899, a daughter of the lateWilliam McKamey Houston and Virginia Bull Houston. She lived into three centuries. Mrs. Fairey was a member of the Moultrie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the Orangeburg County Historical Society, and the Orangeburg Garden Club. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fairey was the widow of William Fletcher Fairey, Jr., and predeceased by a daughter, Mrs.Marjorie Fairey Haston. Survivors: son, Dr. William Fletcher Fairey, III, Pawley's Island, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, (2 of whom are twin boys, born on the the date of her death).
