Dickens, died Friday, June 22, 2001. Mary Dickens was born in Yonges Island, S.C., the daughter of Joseph Stanyarne Stevens and Mary Mellichamp Johnson Stevens. She graduated from Winthrop College with a degree in teaching and taught at Moultrie High School in Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be private at a later date. Survivors include two sons, Brian R. Dickens of Mount Pleasant, Charles C. Dickens of Huger, S.C., two daughters, Mary D. Clark of Norfolk, Virginia, Josephine L. Dickens of St. Louis, Mo., one brother, Johnson Stevens of Yonges Island, S.C. , two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
