Dawson Mother Lucille R. Dawson, 75, of Ridgeland, widow of Alex Dawson, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Ridgeland. Viewing will begin at 1 today, with wake services from 7 to 8 tonight, in Allen Funeral Home, Coosawhatchie. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Mount Carmel Baptist Center, Ridgeland with burial in Roseland Cemetery. Mrs. Dawson was born Dec. 4, 1925, a daughter of Pat and Lillian Garrett. She was educated in the Jasper County schools. She moved to New York City in 1957, where she worked as a custodian. She returned to South Carolina 1971 to take care of her mother. She was employed at Sea Pines, Hilton Head Island until she returned to New York for five years and later returned to South Carolina. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lenora Allen and Patrica Ann Rhett. Surviving are five sons, Arthur L. Roberson Jr. of Ridgeland, Tyrone Roberson of Bennettsville, Earl Roberson, Ben Roberson Jr. and Ronnie Roberson, all of Hilton Head Island; four daughters, Christine James of Bronx, N.Y., Suzanne Gadson, Alicia Shaw, and Stephanie Roberson of Ridgeland; there sisters, Nomia Singleton and Annie L.
