Crane, 69, of North Charleston, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness. Private services have been arranged at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., GREENRIDGE ROAD CHAPEL. A native of Horseshoe, N.C., he was a son of Samuel and Pearl Hollingsworth Crane. After retiring from the U.S. Army with 22 years of service, he worked at the Naval Weapons Station Transportation Department. He is survived by his wife, Lavinia "Libby" Crane, his daughter, Melissa Harrelson of North Charleston and Shelia Ramirez of Junction City, Kans.; his brother, William Crane of Hendersonville, N.C., and Robert Crane of Cottageville; his sisters, Helen Edwards of Cowpens, S.C., Patsy Crane of Horseshoe, N.C., and Sharon McCarson of Etowah, N.C. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Savannah Harrelson and Craig Pierce. Memorials are requested to the Lutheran Hospice, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464.
