"Bunny" Powell, 70, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Powell was born in Hemingway, S.C., a son of the late Eddie Powell and the late Clara Hughes Powell. He was retired from Wellman, Ind., as a supervisor in the Fiber Division for 43 years, a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church and attended Muddy Creek Schools. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Gray Powell of the home, three sons, Randy Powell, Rodney Powell, and Ritchie Powell, all of Johnsonville; two daughters, Camelia P. Stevens of Johnsonville and Cammie P. Gamble of Hemingway; three brothers, Cecil Powell, Mitchell Powell, and Edward Powell, all of Hemingway; three sisters, Gabrell P. Eaddy of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Merlyn P. Cox and Lyle P. Carter, both of Hemingway; ten grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Burial, directed by MORRIS FUNERAL HOME, will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave., N. Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29577.
