Miss Mary Catherine Colvin, 76
CHESTER – A graveside service for Mrs. Mary Catherine Colvin of 149 
Walnut St. was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, at Woodward 
Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Snelgrove officiated. Miss 
Colvin, 76, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Piedmont Medical Center 
in Rock Hill. Born in Chester on Oct. 27, 1924, she was a daughter of 
the late John Guy Colvin Jr. and Janie O’Donnell Colvin. A graduate of 
Chester High School, she retired from the Chester County Treasurer’s 
Office and was a member of Woodward Baptist Church, where she was a 
former Sunday school teacher. Survivors include two brothers, John 
Howard Bubba Colvin and Robert N. Bobby Colvin, both of Chester.
Memorials may be made to Woodward Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2787 
Douglas School Road, Chester, S.C. 29706. Barron Funeral Home was in 
charge of arrangements.
