(The Post and Courier June 11, 2001) Charles Samuel Miles, 66, of Charleston, SC died Sunday morning, June 10, 2001 at a Summerville hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, June 13, 2001 at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC at 2 o'clock. Mr. Miles was born on August 14, 1934 in Weldon, NC, a son of the late Charlie A. Miles and Ida Lee Knox Miles. He was a retired Life Support Specialist in the U. S. Air Force and former employee of the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was an U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and member of VFW Post 10256. Survivors include his two daughters Debra M. Tiller of Summerville and Paula M. Blackmon, of Ladson: two sons, Charles s. Miles, Jr., of Cottageville and Anthony P. Miles, of Hanahan; sister, Bernice M. Cooke, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 5290 Rivers Ave., Charleston, SC 29406.
